about

The new single from The Doomed Bird of Providence uses newspaper reports from the 1920s and 1930s as lyrics. Ransoms for Cars is a 1930's Australian newspaper article about a car ransom scam in Melbourne. Another Grim Sea Collision Has Occurred is the story of a collision of two ships detailed by 'wireless messages'. Mark Kluzek has used the reports verbatim to create songs, for the most part letting the words inform the song structure.
